David Arroyo’s Portfolio - Thanks for Stopping By!

David Arroyo is a Nuyorican graphic designer, artist, photographer/filmmaker, and writer based in New York City, with a passion for storytelling. His graphic design work focuses on logos/brand design and books/editorial design. Skilled in photography, film, and writing, he can adapt any design project across all forms of media.

David’s abstract mixed media & embroidery art explores autobiographical and historical themes. He creates projects inspired by nature, the cosmos, Puerto Rican culture, and art history. Some pieces are stand-alone, while others are part of a collection. His work combines elements of collage, photography, painting/drawing, printmaking, and embroidery.

David creates studio and street photography projects that delve into documentary and personal themes. His film and audio projects are experimental and intimate. He uses experimental film techniques, audio from oral history interviews, as well as narrated poetry. His art, photography, and experimental films have earned commendations, honorable mentions and finalists distinctions, in both domestic/international contests and film screenings.

His writing and self-published books are an exploration in prose/poetry, illustrated stories, photography, and non-fiction. His first non-fiction book is soon to be self-published. Jorge Soto Sánchez: An Homage to his Life, Art, and Writing, forthcoming this year, has been awarded a Fellowship with The Center for Puerto Rican Studies at Hunter College (CENTRO) and received a grant from CENTRO’s Lydia García Author Fund in 2025.
